The importance of understanding how to survive if you end up in an emergency at sea cannot be overstated. On our Sea Survival Course, you will learn in a very practical manner, how to survive.
The one day course includes a two hour practical session in a pool where you will learn how to launch the liferaft, the importance of dry boarding, how to enter the water in an emergency, how to get into the raft from the water and how to re-right an upturned life-raft. The practical session concludes with an abandon ship drill. The course also teaches you about the standards of liferaft construction, use of liferaft equipment, and what to include in your grab bag.
It is well documented that people who have received training, have a much greater chance of survival in an emergency.
This course is recommended by RORC, as part of the training to fulfil the requirements for ISAF. This course is a pre-requisite if you need to commercially endorse your Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster qualification.
